Pleading My Amateur Heartbreak

The waterfall

from my bleeding heart

creates shattering glass tears

pools of my pain

evidence of our confusion.

Tracing the edges of my heart

with your fingertips

as your words

rip it down the middle

such jagged precision.

But its still not enough

the mirror reflects

my tear-stained face

not only outside

my heart, left in pieces too.

The exhaustion of my mind

spinning in eighteen different directions

chasing each emotion

each thought

each reflection.

And after I fall from dizziness

with all these bouncing words

I sink to my knees

and cry with all my might

I love you, come back to me.
